These rules are to be followed on all forums on the board at all times. Depending on the severity of the infraction and how many times we remind you, multiple infringements may result in post probation or banning.
1. Always be courteous to your fellow members. You don't always have to get along but you do have to be polite. Thus, there will be no fighting, flaming, or insulting on the board.
2. No board content should stray beyond the PG-13 mark. That means no overly vivid or detailed descriptions of gore, drug use, or sexual situations. You may include those things in your writing but please don't scar anyone's eyes with the intricate nuances of your latest kill or lusty evening.
3. We probably don't have to state this for our writers, but nevertheless godmoding is banned on the boards. You may not control any other character's actions, thoughts, or responses without the player's permission, kill or injure another character without permission, and you can't write your character as being all-knowing or all-powerful. This includes knowing a character's history without a good IC reason, being able to read their thoughts or 'guess' at what they are planning or feeling, or claiming to be able to whup any character on the site hands down without a fuss.
4. Approach the administration civilly both on the boards and off. The administration at SoP is here to serve and protect the entire RPG. This includes the overall concept of the board itself as well as the members that make it a game. Please understand that while sometimes there is a conflict between the health of the game and your personal enjoyment thereof we will always do our best to compromise to afford everyone with the best writing experience we can offer. Sometimes SoP will not be the place for some storylines or writers but that doesn't mean SoP does not appreciate those story archs or those players, so please don't abuse the admins if they inform you that this is the case. We are simply trying to protect the framework of this game and would probably love to read such stories or writers elsewhere in the RP universe. So please treat us with respect and maturity, and we will do the same for you.
